"Please, almost everyone leaves the house armed here, they won't care about
that," Maggie assures him as she uses his help to lever herself back
to her feet and head for the bedroom. "Even Mahir has at least one gun in
his room, not that he uses it much. Mahir being the colleague of mine who
was left babysitting me until my parents arrived, while everyone else went
off to chase the news. Don't know if you met him when he was in
Wonderland, but he's lovely. One of my favorite people. He'll be by later
too."
She pulls Seth down to sit next to her on the edge of the bed.
"It'll be fine. They're used to me having a constant rotating cast of
houseguests, and it's not like you ever hide the fact that you care about
me. If you're here, they'll assume I invited you because otherwise there's
no way you'd have gotten past the Agora's security. Which, by the way, you
will live in very quiet infamy for; most people don't even know this place
exists. They're so discreet here that they'll never breathe a word of it,
but their security team must be having conniptions downstairs."
Which is frankly hilarious to picture. "My parents own shares in the
place, otherwise they'd be at our door asking questions. Instead, they
have to keep their turmoil to themselves."
Seth, you have on your first day here gone down in covert history as the
man who broke into the most secure hotel in the world. Congratulations.
